INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

CLASS II TO V The Junior School of Delhi Public School Megacity, Kolkata, celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour on 13th August 2025 in the Amphitheatre. The event marked the completion of 78 years of India’s independence. The students carried forward the spirit of freedom as they celebrated the day. The scouts and guides students dressed up in uniforms and escorted the dignitaries to the Amphitheatre. Classes II-V were assembled for the celebration in the school amphitheatre in the formation of the national tricolour flag. Students of different classes came in traditional attire of the colour allotted to them to be a part of the formation. Carrying and waving the national tricolour the crowd looked happy and proud of the celebration of the day. The program commenced with short a prayer recited by Principal Ma’am followed by the pledge seeking blessings from the Almighty for the wellbeing of all citizens of India. The next program on stage was a  melodious violin recital by the students of classes IV and V. This followed a colourful dance drama by students of class IV which depicted the Indian freedom struggle and final victory of all people. This was followed by a dance by the class V students depicting a village theme where a symbolic representation of a fight between good and evil was enacted through an energetic dance performance. The grand finale was first a commotion of all students going in rotation with Indian flags and the coming back to a harmonised a lotus circle depicting the turmoil and the final freedom attained by the peaceful and beautiful India. The program concluded with the choir singing a medley of patriotic numbers and the final National anthem sung by all. It was a moment of pride and glory as the Anthem filled the air with the feeling of patriotism. INDEPENDENCE DAY – “HONORING FREEDOM, CELEBRATING UNITY, AND SALUTING OUR NATION’S PRIDE.”
