About 35 stray dogs of the locality are provided food every single day of the year
by the Interact Club of the school. They are sterilized and vaccinated at every
regular interval. Support staff of the institution look after these stray dogs very
religiously every day and arrangement for fresh food is made for them.

Dps Megacity proudly organized ‘Quintessential’, the Installation ceremony of the Interact Club ON 3rd September 2025 to implant the qualities of compassion and leadership among the students. Invoking the Almighty with the auspicious lighting of the lamp and chanting of the Ganesh Vandana was followed by the oath taking ceremony where the young and aspiring interactors pledged to build a future of compassion under the able guidance of respected Principal, Mrs Tilottama Mallik, Senior Headmaster Mr. Kalyan Basu.
The occasion was graced by the presence of District Governor Rotarian Dr. Ramendu Homechowdhury, District Interact CoChair Mr Nilanjan Sen, President Rotary Club of Calcutta North East Rotarian Angana Paul, Secretary Rotarian Sabyasachi Bose, Rotary Interact Chair Rotarian Soumendra Rakshit, instilling values of love and compassion among the young citizens of the country to serve the nation. The event marked the official establishment of the club, which aims to promote community service, leadership and keeping service above self.

CATEGORY – ADULT LITERACY PROJECT
TITLE- ADULT LITERACY PROGRAM EACH ONE TEACH ONE

SUMMARY OF PROJECT:
Adult Literacy Orientation Program which was hosted by DPS Megacity way back on 11th May 2023 is continuing till session 2025-26. The program ensures all students from class 6 to 12 join hands with the Government in making the program a success.
Adult Literacy Program (Education for all) aims to impart functional literacy to non-literate adults (15+ age) across India towards making India 100℅ literate. Rotary India Literacy Mission (RILM) has set a goal of making 5 crore adult literate by the year 2027.This is in sync with the Nav Bharat Shiksha Karyakram of Government of India where the government has planned to make 5 crore adults literate by 2027. Government of India and RILM, together plan to make 10 crore adults literate by 2027.
1600 students from class 6 to 12 attended the Program and were briefed about the registration procedure and the benefits. They are continuing the program with utmost sincerity.

‘Anna Seva’, an initiative taken by the Interact Club of DPS Megacity on 10th April 2026 was a resounding success. The interactors served 320 free meals to individuals near Chittaranjan Seva Sadan Hospital, 11.30am onwards. The interactors were overwhelmed and reported feeling grateful for the opportunity. The programme fostered a sense of community and social connection.

The Ganga cleaning mission as part of the Namami Gange initiative is a noble initiative taken up by the DPS Megacity students. Our Interact Club students have collaborated to make a difference. These young changemakers have come together to clean the banks of the Holy Ganges, spreading awareness about the importance of keeping our river clean and pollution-free. Through this initiative, our students aim to inspire others to join hands in protecting our environment and preserving our cultural heritage. We believe that every small step counts, and collective efforts can lead to significant positive change. This initiative demonstrates their commitment to social responsibility. Their efforts will inspire others to join this noble cause and work towards a cleaner, greener future for all.

Interactors of DPS Megacity had the privilege of Heritage Walk at Lok Bhavan on 13th December 2025, a treasure trove of art culture and history. Lok Bhavan is not just a heritage building; it is Kolkata’s outstanding landmark evoking the past and sublimating it. Lok Bhavan, Kolkata, the erstwhile Government House, used to be the seat of British Imperial power. Students got a glimpse into history with a guided tour of The Lok Bhavan, the official residence of the Governor. Students learnt about the rich cultural heritage and significance of the landmark from knowledgeable guides. The interactive tour sparked curiosity and appreciation for India’s colonial past. The experience was both educational and inspiring, leaving students with unforgettable memories of their visit to this iconic landmark.

SUMMARY OF PROJECT:
A camp was arranged at the Shimla Byayam Samitee where 750 underprivileged widows were honoured. Hygiene kits (which included toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, lotions, etc.), a pair of slippers, a saree, a blanket, a mosquito net, an umbrella and food packets, biscuit packets, were distributed among them. Members of the Interact Club of DPS Megacity along with the Rotary Club North East, successfully carried out the project on 7th December, 2025. Interact Club of DPS Megacity donated Rs. 40,000 for this noble cause and was honoured to be part of it.

DPS Megacity interactors had arranged for cool tetra packs of Amul Masti, 2 packs each for all the facility staff male and female, entire security body, all bus drivers, escorts and helpers and even the construction labourers who were working at the school premises on 8th July 2025 just to add a sip of solace in the scorching heat. The staff was overwhelmed at this gesture of the students and showered them with their blessings.

Delhi Public School Megacity celebrated the winter carnival on 20th December, 2025. It was a fund-raiser, the proceeds of which would be contributed towards the less privileged and other such welfare activities. The interact club of the institution had put up a game stall and a food stall which were exclusively run by the budding interactors and raised funds to extend a helping hand to the less privileged.

Perennial Project
The students of Delhi Public School Megacity cultivate varieties of organic vegetables such as broad beans, bitter gourd, spinach, pumpkin, cauliflowers, cabbages, papaya, jackfruits, coriander and green chilies inside the school premises. Small start-up kits are provided to them which contain vegetable seeds, sample bio-fertilizers, biopesticides and basic equipment like hand sprayers. The students spent their free time before and after classes looking after these gardens under the guidance of teachers. The produce is later distributed amongst the Group D staff members and a part of it is donated to the school canteen for preparation of meals for students and teachers.

Delhi Public School Megacity interactors have always played an active role in involving the students in the cleanliness drive. It was a step towards fulfilling the dream of ‘Swachch Bharat’ of Shri Narendra Modi, our honourable Prime Minister. Students of Class 8 and 9 cleaned the school corridors and classrooms, thus inculcating in them and emulating at this tender age, the habit of keeping the environment clean.

The students of Delhi Public School Megacity took an initiative to promote the use of paper ‘Thongas’ or paper bags instead of plastic bags. The interactors of classes 6 and 7 along took the initiative to make ‘thongas’ and paper bags on their own. Posters and paper bags were distributed among the shopkeepers of their locality, making them aware of the hazards of using plastic and enlightening them on the benefits of using paper bags and other substitutes.

In the month of September, every Friday of the entire month, the Interact club of DPS Megacity conducted a Donation Drive where organic sanitary napkins were handed over to the female facility staff of the school, an initiative to make people aware of health and hygiene. The response was exemplary and they, putting aside their inhibitions, participated in the drive.
