MEGABIZZ 2026 : INTER- SCHOOL COMMERCE FEST
DPS Megacity hosted the eighth edition of MegaBizz, 2026, a business symposium for
budding student entrepreneurs on 1st August 2026.
This was a unique platform where 11 schools from in and around Kolkata participated to showcase their business ideas and engineer a full- proof plan to initiate a company.
Starting with the designing of the product, production of the product, advertising of the product, marketing of the product, finance of the product, managerial skills and strategic thinking, the enthusiastic pupils showcased all through PowerPoint presentations just like a real business meeting.
The event started with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp along with the Ganesh Vandana. It was followed by the National Song and the National Anthem.
The Academic Advisor Mrs. Indrani Sanyal said, “MegaBizz is conducted in school because the world today is not looking for degrees, it is looking for doers. The students will be talking of micro entrepreneurship, learning by doing, what the CISCE insists upon.”
The Chief Guest Dr. Sanjib Kumar Basu said that one must focus on overall development and be a humanitarian to give back to the society. It is the unflinching passion, punctuality, and discipline, which makes one achieve the goal. The Guest of Honour Mr John Andrew Bagul mentioned that in today’s world, creativity , soft skills, innovative ideas, communicative skills and deft use of AI, are of cardinal importance for students. The Chief Guest, the Guest of Honour and the eminent panel of adjudicators were felicitated and presented with gifts, mementos and planters.
The brochure for MegaBizz 2026 was released by the Academic Advisor, in the august presence of the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, the Senior Coordinator, who is also the Head of the Department of Commerce and Business Studies, Priyanka Laha and Commerce Coordinator, who is also the Head of Accountancy and Entrepreneurship, Sumit Roy.
The Sponsors Shyam Steel Private Limited and Media Sponsors Wow News24x7.com, were introduced and felicitated for their patronage. A wonderful curated PowerPoint presentation with the entire MegaBizz team was unveiled.
The main events witnessed brilliant skills of the students in Mega Eminence, Mega Ventures, Mega Enchere, Mega Convergence and Mega Mindscape. A repertoire of songs , eastern dance, western dance and a Fun Quiz enthralled the audience before the Prize Distribution ceremony.
DPS Megacity secured the First Runner-Up position in MegaBizz 2026.
The Winner’s Trophy was awarded to The Heritage School, while the Second Runner-Up position was secured by St. Xavier’s Collegiate School, Park Street.
The curtains for the seamlessly curated programme came to an end after the official vote of thanks by Dr. Kalyan Basu, the Senior Head Master.
